Three Speech Title Round-Up

Three Speech Title Round-Up– It just goes to show what great games are going to be released on the PS3 in the next couple of months or so.  My favourites I’m looking forward to though?  Has to be Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, and BioShock.  Those are my dream three.  Right there.

Premium Themes on the PlayStation Store

Premium Themes on the PlayStation Store– I suppose new content like this is good as there’s always going to be someone out there with money burning a hole in their pocket.  Personally though, themes don’t appeal to me.  I like the clean, elegant XMB that is there as default.  I’ve even got rid of my wallpaper.  Just too distracting.  See also, TheSixthAxis’ report.

Three Developers Explain LittleBigPlanet Level Design to a 7-Year-Old

Three Developers Explain LittleBigPlanet Level Design to a 7-Year-Old– Kotaku shows why LittleBigPlanet will open the PLAYSTATION brand to such a wide audience, and why the rest of the gaming industry should be afraid.  There’s also some neat level design tips for the rest of us!

MTV Multiplayer interviews John Smedley

MTV Multiplayer interviews John Smedley– If you like your news thick and fast then this interview certainly provides that.  For anyone with a passing interest in Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), this is essential reading. Whilst SOE aren’t the darlings of the MMO industry, what they’re upto deserves attention.

Coming Out of the Shadows: Rusty Buchert Talks Latest Project

Coming Out of the Shadows: Rusty Buchert Talks Latest Project– Sure, when it comes to games consoles, I’m quite biased.  But if this is not innovation of the art form, I don’t know what is.  Innovation these days seems to be on the PS3 and the Wii.

GTA IV gets Trophy patch

GTA IV gets Trophy patch– I must admit, this news really took me by surprise.  Considering such games as Race Driver: GRID and Resistance: Fall of Man were not going to be patched, I had resigned myself to the fact that GTA IV would also not be patched.  Sooo….. this is great!

UK PS3 install base over three times what it was a year ago

UK PS3 install base over three times what it was a year ago– This is good news, but the Xbox 360 remains very strong in the UK (Microsoft: Xbox 360 outselling PS3 two-to-one).  The PS3’s strong games lineup is in no doubt- I think this all has to do with price point at this stage.  The Xbox 360’s cheapest price is now as low as £129.99 whilst the cheapest PS3 is currently £299.99.  That’s some difference.

Make your PlayStation Eye work on Windows

Make your PLAYSTATION Eye work on Windows– Now this is cool, props off to the very talented guy who made this work; some great backwards-engineering.  Obviously the camera will work on any computer potentially, but Sony has not made any drivers for anything apart from the PLAYSTATION 3.  The question is, will any computer users be interested in using the PS Eye?

Buzz!: Quiz TV Special Edition arrives for the holidays

Buzz!: Quiz TV Special Edition arrives for the holidays– Looks sweet!  Has everything I’d want and need: wireless Buzz! controllers, some extra content, and PLAYSTATION Eye compatibility.  I just need it at the right price, then I might get it this Christmas.
