2011 is another great year for gaming

I’ve got to get my skates on.  I’m still wading through Red Dead Redemption which I’m still loving (but it’s huge!) and that’s not to mention Undead Nightmare that I’ve yet to touch. Meanwhile PixelJunk Shooter 2 is going in the sin bin.  Permanently.  So for now I’m just going to highlight a few select games … Continue reading 2011 is another great year for gaming

The Da Vinci Disappearance

I previously covered Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood on the blog way back in December 2010.  Towards the end of my review I said: As for whether Brotherhood is significantly shorter than it’s predecessor, well, it’s definitely shorter, but not by much.  I have completed the main story mode with a smattering of side missions in about 16 hours. … Continue reading The Da Vinci Disappearance

What I’ve been playing this Winter

You might say that it’s been a rather slow couple of months for gaming.  Of course, there’s been loads of gaming news going on but I’m not a news website and in all honesty I haven’t really been bothered passing comment on any news items. However…   I do have an opinion on the whole … Continue reading What I’ve been playing this Winter

Why don’t bloggers share the knowledge?

Whilst there are plenty of guides and walkthroughs available for games on the internet (note: I’m not on about finding exploits or cheats here) I’ve noticed that many come from big sites and forums, yet relatively little tips and strategies come from bloggers.  I’m not on about blogs who are geared up purely to help, … Continue reading Why don’t bloggers share the knowledge?

My Sony E3 2010 keynote digest

E3 has come around again so soon (it appears), or am I just getting older?  Bah, humbug.  Anyhow, after Sony’s kitchen-sink-approach to keynotes and surprises I’ll only highlight in brief a few items that have piqued my interest: PlayStation Move Speaking of the devil, the Move has finally been priced and dated which ‘moves’ it … Continue reading My Sony E3 2010 keynote digest

The Saboteur

The Saboteur is one of those games that was always on my radar.  Released in early December, however I was already engrossed with Assassin’s Creed II and Modern Warfare 2 so The Saboteur got put on a back-burner.  It gets to March and I’ve been putting the finishing touches to completing Burnout Paradise and inFamous.  So, what next? I compiled a list of … Continue reading The Saboteur

Top 5 games to watch out for in 2010

I’m finding that 2010 is whizzing along at a brisk pace and for the most part, I’ve just been left in its wake with my mouth wide open.  Not anymore.  I’m currently working my way through finishing off the achievements for existing games such as inFamous, Burnout Paradise and Assassin’s Creed II.  But there’s something … Continue reading Top 5 games to watch out for in 2010

Measuring Difficulty in Games

How do you measure difficulty levels in games? Can you measure them?  I suppose what I’m really asking is who says what games are classified as being: difficult, tricky, mildly taxing, relatively easy or a cake walk?  I hope by now you’ve figured out that it’s really each and every single one of us.  It’s … Continue reading Measuring Difficulty in Games

Naughty Dog adds free DLC for Uncharted 2

This coming weekend, Naughty Dog will be adding a few treats for gamers in Uncharted 2: new, free multiplayer map ‘The Fort‘, in-game player card, and leaderboards.  Just for the weekend itself, there’s likely to be Double XP according to TheSixthAxis.  Might be enough to peel me away from Assassin’s Creed II hmm.
